Today I sacrificed my freedom without considering what I was losing. I played God by cocking the trigger, aiming, and firing recklessly at someone who had little regard for my emotional health. By taking matters into my own hand I dimmed the lights on a life without realizing that I had allowed someone else’s actions to alter my destiny. Remorse fell upon my senses with the velocity of a category 5 hurricane, but it arrived in vain without ability for restoration. In the aftermath of revenge I still found that I was broken beyond repair and all I could to do was comply and prepare myself for judgement. As I walked away from the spot where my weapon of choice rested silently, I looked back over my shoulder and recognized who I had become in my quest to rectify wrong.
