“IT IS WHAT IT IS” – Author, Kezia Davis’s Provocitive Blog Talk Radio Show

Having stayed up late night into the wee hours, then rising up early so that I could punch in at work today, I would have never imagined that the afternoon would yield a short string of mini-miracles for my spirit.  The first in that string occurred when two family members of mine showed me their love in the form of sharing wisdom with me about relationships, and expressing their love for me with kind gestures and words of encouragement.  It was almost as if God was sending subtle messages in the form of these unexpected acts of kindness from my family members.

The next unexpected occurrence came in the form of  an invitation by Author, Kezia Davis to listen to her thought-provoking Blog Talk Radio Show, “It Is What It Is“.  I had the opportunity of  listening to a couple of her prior shows and found her to have a lovely radio personality, so I didn’t hesitate to click on the link to enter, once again,  into the spiritually-charged radio plateau  of this amazingly gifted host.

Of all the topics that Kezia had to chose from, the one for the show the evening of September 29th, 2010 was entitled “The Rapture — Will You Be Ready?”  Kezia’s interest in exploring this controversial and riveting topic says a lot about her inquisitive nature, and as I listened to her discuss the prophesies pertaining to year 2012, as well as, other doomsday predictions I sent her a BTR chat message to add on to the one she spoke on concerning solar flares.  I stated that the Aurora Borealis (AKA: The Northern Lights) get their magic from solar flares hitting the earth’s atmosphere, which prompted her to ask me to call in and join her on the air.

Needless to say, I turned the volume of my computer down, and dialed into (347) 855-8182 to join in on the discussion.  In a natural flow, the conversation entered the realm of religion and the book of Revelations and prophecy, then on to world events pertaining to the societal pulse as it relates to what had been prophesied.  Things were taken to another level when Gwendolyn Green, the fascinating author of the book “The Mandate Fulfilled” joined in on the discussion. Her inspiring twenty-year journey resulted in a spiritual awakening that put her on a path of “Getting God’s People Out of Debt”.  She elaborated by saying that she was a struggling mother trying to pay her bills and feed her children.  She went even further, sharing how her prayers for personal relief from struggles manifested into an appointed task from God.

When asked her views on the end of days, she confidently stated that “Christians have too much work to do for Jesus to come back right now.”  She also added at one point by saying that instead of “Praying for others who have wronged us, we prey on them, asking God to make them feel the hurt that we have felt as a result of being taken advantage of by them.”  In her 20 year adventure she said she has gone behind enemy lines in order to fulfill her mission, and has seen a great deal of mayhem on the other side, but emerged stronger in her faith and commitment to do God’s work.

In all honesty, at one point, I had forgotten we were on a talk show because it felt more like a fellowship taking place.   Kezia was so pleased with the discussion that she deemed this particular show as being her favorite one by far.  Well, I certainly enjoyed the discussion because it was truly uplifting to my spirit.  I tell you, it was an enlightening experience and I sure will be tuning into “It Is What It Is” more often.  I’ll also be tuning into Gwendolyn’s Blog Talk Radio Show as well, because her inspiring story really impressed me.

About G. D. Grace of California

After the release of his fifth self-published novel, “Ripped & Ready (season 3)” GD ramped up for a new endeavor in radio, and on September 2, 2010 his first #BlogTalkRadio show premiered. His first two guest were two literary colleagues from two different sides of the tracks — one a former prison inmate-hustler, single father, turned author — the other, an accredited teacher and single father first time author. The intense on-air climate of cultural differences on the show, at one point, became thick enough to slice with a butter knife, however, it was a very successful event. Despite the clash over marketing approaches both authors remained professional and the outcome was a highly entertaining and interesting show. The seasons that followed incorporated talent from all walks of creativity, so in addition to the authors, GD’s guest lineup included poets and recovering addicts, motivational speakers and entrepreneurs, filmmakers and professionals in sports training and health, and also established artists from highly successful television shows, as well as, NAACP & Grammy Winners. Many shows gave us an inside glimpse inside the lives of legends from Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Smokey Robinson, Ray Goodman & Brown, Bruce A. Hawes (extraordinary writer for the Sounds of Philadelphia), Gerald Alston of The Manhattans, The Delphonics, Howard Hewett, and Chris Jasper of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognized Isley Brothers. Legends of literary Stanley Bennett Clay and James Earl Hardy also brought their distinct creative prowess to the show, as did professionals from the Broadway stage. GD’s show eventually caught the attention of World Media and through this friendship many of the legends mentioned above were tapped to be guests on the show. His friend, and often times, mentor, Wayne Barros became an influential part of the legacy that he was creating one show at time. His friendship, love, and direction helped enforce an inner-confidence in GD which allowed him to stretch his producing skills so the show would have an entertaining variety for the live listener and archive listeners. Between the two audience variations the show has been listened to by over 40,000 people. It has been successful beyond GD’s wildest dreams, and as Season 6 approaches, the adrenalin within him increases. He begins assembling the guest list next month in April 2015, and…
