“A Touch of Grace” – The Show Where Authors Shine!

Without a doubt, writers are blessed with the persuasive and powerful gift of literary expression, with an ability to paint empty pages with letters and words that spark curiosity and expand the realm of imagination.  Descriptive in character assignment to help the reader see person, place, and space vividly, they are the collective.   Emotions and color leap from the pages in an assortment of range and decadence, pulling the unsuspecting into a world near and distant without apology, allowing a reader the freedom to delve as deep as they desire to go.

These are plains where hungry spirits wander without boundaries or judgment, where private moments expand and are permitted to blend into the unfolding  plot line.  The writer may write it, but the reader is the only one who perceives and receives the message by their own interpretation.  Even though it twists and turns on the track like a coaster with intended destination, there is always an opportunity to stray off course and reach the alternative conclusion.

On September 2cnd, 2010 a 4 time self-published author stepped briefly away from literary creativity to experience a new art that would allow his fellow writers to step into the spotlight to share their literary journeys with hungry readers and possible buyers, as a way of giving back.   Over the course of an hour listeners are introduced to rising authors and are allowed to interact with them on a personal level, so that they can put voice and personality behind the novel or poem presented.

The guest who have appeared so far are a collective group with a sincere respect and love for the literary, and the messages they want to convey are clear and defined, and with each appearance “A Touch of Grace” is building a reputation for its integrity.  The alumni have dictated that listeners will walk away from the hour with inspiring tales that not only capture the imagination, but those that will also captivate the spirit.

December continues the “A Touch of Grace” saga, with the only confirmed author, Author Michael Charles Givens, writer of the autobiographical project, “The Dopeless Hope Fiend”.  His incredible story chronicles the life of a peace officer sworn to uphold the law, who gets seduced by the illicit substance and her lethal charms.  On December 7th, 2010 at 6:00pm PST and 9:00pm EST, this courageous African American will grace the airwaves and shed light on how he obtained, succumbed, and regained his life.  It’s one that you won’t want to miss.

“A Touch of Grace” is looking for two more guest for the December shows, if you know you have a story that must be told, please submit no less than 3 pages, no more than a chapter of your work to detria0918@sbcglobal.net in a word document for consideration.  Currently 2700 listeners have tuned in to listen live or to the recorded broadcast, and that number is growing.  History is being made, and if you want to be part of it, let your actions speak just as loudly as your written words.

Stay strong, be tough, and keep the faith.

About G. D. Grace of California

After the release of his fifth self-published novel, “Ripped & Ready (season 3)” GD ramped up for a new endeavor in radio, and on September 2, 2010 his first #BlogTalkRadio show premiered. His first two guest were two literary colleagues from two different sides of the tracks — one a former prison inmate-hustler, single father, turned author — the other, an accredited teacher and single father first time author. The intense on-air climate of cultural differences on the show, at one point, became thick enough to slice with a butter knife, however, it was a very successful event. Despite the clash over marketing approaches both authors remained professional and the outcome was a highly entertaining and interesting show. The seasons that followed incorporated talent from all walks of creativity, so in addition to the authors, GD’s guest lineup included poets and recovering addicts, motivational speakers and entrepreneurs, filmmakers and professionals in sports training and health, and also established artists from highly successful television shows, as well as, NAACP & Grammy Winners. Many shows gave us an inside glimpse inside the lives of legends from Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Smokey Robinson, Ray Goodman & Brown, Bruce A. Hawes (extraordinary writer for the Sounds of Philadelphia), Gerald Alston of The Manhattans, The Delphonics, Howard Hewett, and Chris Jasper of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognized Isley Brothers. Legends of literary Stanley Bennett Clay and James Earl Hardy also brought their distinct creative prowess to the show, as did professionals from the Broadway stage. GD’s show eventually caught the attention of World Media and through this friendship many of the legends mentioned above were tapped to be guests on the show. His friend, and often times, mentor, Wayne Barros became an influential part of the legacy that he was creating one show at time. His friendship, love, and direction helped enforce an inner-confidence in GD which allowed him to stretch his producing skills so the show would have an entertaining variety for the live listener and archive listeners. Between the two audience variations the show has been listened to by over 40,000 people. It has been successful beyond GD’s wildest dreams, and as Season 6 approaches, the adrenalin within him increases. He begins assembling the guest list next month in April 2015, and…
