Author G D Grace’s Farewell to 2012

Author G D Grace

Sometimes we must return to the place of origin where it first began.
I searched my brief alias, G D Freightman, on Google and found the blog site Story Alley.
I wrote both “Ripped & Ready” and “Dragged…” on it. I had about 300 or so thirsty readers following me as I wrote chapter after chapter.
I always got a kick out of their comments, and how eager they all were for me to post more chapters.
As I read through some of the chapters I still have up, and all the comments, I realized something…
When we reflect we are given an opportunity to see just how much we’ve grown. I still carry the encouragement that they gave me inside of me whenever I write. They believed in me at a time when I had a hard time believing in myself.
I have matured as a writer, and my first 5 novels represent the very beginning of my literary career.
As a writer you hope to touch people and, in this life, I know I have.
As I sit here bidding farewell to 2012, I am excited about 2013, and the novels I’ll be releasing. It has been 3 years since my last release, and it is time. The literary climate has changed since then; e-books are huge, as are the opportunities for new authors. I’m ready.
Many say what they’re going to do, what they hope to do, what they’d like to do, but I am among those that did. I am a 5 times self-published author/blog talk radio producer & host. I say that with humble pride to remind myself…
I share this to say this; don’t be afraid to make your dreams come true. There will always be doubters sitting on the side line hurling verbal putdowns, telling you that you need to wait until you have a better book cover, peddling their services trying to sell you success…
Well, there are great, honest, independent publishers out there, and some of them have become great friends, but I want to say this…
Before signing on the dotted line make sure they are ethical and reputable.
How do you do this?
…By networking with some of the authors in their literary stable. If they are happy, then, most likely, so will you. ~GD

Being Determined

Faith1st Ministries

Determination - Tiger's Eye13 Brothers and sisters, I can’t consider myself a winner yet. This is what I do: I don’t look back, I lengthen my stride, and 14 I run straight toward the goal to win the prize that God’s heavenly call offers in Christ Jesus.Philippians 3:13-14 (God’s Word)

Determination: the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose.

As we come to the end of another year, one that has been full of  promises and disappointment, triumph and tragedy…it is time to look forward to a new year. This is a time many are in the mode of reflection, focusing on the year that has past. Others are looking toward the New Year with uncertainty…unsure of what to expect.

Today, as I face the close of 2012, I choose to do neither…I choose to have the determination to follow God and His Word!…
