Back then the world seemed big; too big for a little boy with a tender heart and creative dreams. He was surrounded by love, but couldn’t seem to feel the love within to love self.
The days brought relief after long nights of longing, longing to belong. It ached beyond feeling, desolate as a parched plain gone several seasons without rain.
Views atop mountains with only wayward winds as company felt less than suffice, even with blue skies and warm rays of descending suns.
In the still of silver moonlight his cries could be heard in faint echoes of a distant too far to see, too cold to hold. It was there where deeper thoughts dwelled, and they were as deep as the deepest depth.
Solitude. It was in the honesty of solitude where the encouraging whispers of faith embraced a ragged spirit, nursing it back to whole.
Come dawn a stronger soul rose from the ashes to become best and better than. These days he smiles often, for he discovered a love that was never lost.
New tomorrows press onward, and now he knows peace. ~GD
